May 13, 1965 is the date I first heard Van Morrison sing a song. The sun was shining. The fields were filled with blooming mountain laurel. I walked along the railroad tracks with a transistor radio in my hand while the growing, glowing gloaming fell all around me. I do not believe in coincidence.
