Breitbart Elects Farrakhan

Today, Breitbart News, presented this story, headlined as follows: Farrakhan to Obama; Let Trump Do What He Wants, You Failed Inner City Blacks".

It doesn't take a great leap of imagination to understand why Donald Trump's in-house media organ, the overtly racist Breibart News, and its' publisher, Steve Bannon, who happens to be the "CEO" of Donald Trump's Presidential campaign, has suddenly elected to propel the once prominent, Minister of Islam, Louis Farrakhan, back into the headlines.

This is nothing more than a cynical tactic intended to splinter the African-American vote through the use of black on black rhetorical manipulation. It is a political ploy and yet another glimpse into the shameless core of Trump's greedy heart and selfish soul.

Since this is directed at the legacy of President Obama, this note will address that issue only.

Barack Obama's inability to do more for the African American community ignores the fact that for most of his term he was confronted with an implacable Republican congress whose leadership announced their intention to make him a one-term President before he was even inaugurated; that opposed and fought tooth and nail against every single policy initiative that he introduced; that encouraged and fostered hatred for him, his family and which, led by its' current nominee, questioned his legitimacy as a citizen and our President.

Despite this Mr. Obama leaves a lengthy legacy of accomplishment including the passage of the Affordable Heath Care Act for which Minister Farrakhan castigates him notwithstanding that the Act has resulted in a drastic and historic reduction in the number of people of all races who are uninsured (approximately 4% of the population in Massachusetts is presently uninsured.)

Through it all, Barack Obama , his wife and children never once lashed out or hit back. He (and they) conducted himself with unflagging dignity that will serve as a model for future politicians and the populace alike regardless of race, creed, religion or national origin.

If he was unable to aide the black community as much as many of all hues would have hoped, I ask that you consider that he was chained by history and circumstance and freed by the noble dictates of his own nature, to serve as President for the entire nation, regardless of race, creed or religion,

As for Minister Farrakhan, he and Barack Obama have a lengthy and difficult relationship. Mr. Obama rejected his support in the 2008 campaign due to Farrakhan's divisive rhetoric. This stands in bold relief when juxtaposed against the reluctance of the Republican nominee, who has yet to clearly reject the allegiance of KKK leader, David Duke.

Notwithstanding his present criticism, in 2008, Minister Farrakhan said of Mr. Obama, " (then) Senator Obama is not the Messiah for sure, but anytime, he gives you a sign of uniting races, ethnic groups, ideologies, religions and makes people feel a sense of oneness, that's not necessarily Satan’s work, that is I believe the work of God".

Later, the Minister anointed Mr. Obama as, "the first Jewish President" because of Obama's support for Israel over the government of Libya, which Farrakhan supported. This is a policy dostinction that favors the President and is an indication of the source of Farrakhan's irrelevancy.

There is a far more that could be great added to buttress this argument but in the interest of brevity I conclude by reiterating the following: Louis Farrakhan's influence has been on the wane in the black community and world wide for decades. His recent imprint and impact have been blunted by his persistence in clinging to bitter and divisive policy positions that have been rejected and discredited rendering him nothing more than another tool of Donald Trump and his racist "news" organization.

'Nuff said.
